Neil quickly caught up and was tailing her, making her grit her teeth together and press down on the pedal as hard as she could as if it would help her gain speed through some sort of miracle.

“I kind of did, actually!” Knives replied, giggling a little herself. Suddenly Neil lost control of his car or something, because on the last turn his car smashed into the wall, just letting Knives win by an inch. She laughed and threw her arm in the air in triumph. “Yes!”
She turned to Neil, grinning broadly. “I told you I’d beat you!”
